Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Goodmoooorning!
It is a wonderful morning - sun is out (HURRRAAAAH), no wind (MORE HURRRAAAAH) and it is an acceptable temperature! So let me share quickly another christmas card I made yesterday before I rush out to clean my car! It is very much needed!!

I have made another christmas card and is using it to participate in the Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge in the Moxie Fab World - why don't you play too? You got plenty of time - last date for playing along is Oct. 11!!

The card is made with clear embossing powder on kraft. It is a tall slim card - I am thinking it could be handy to have a couple of those for December when giving away Christmas flowers or I might use it as a big tag on presents. Let me know what you think! The black dot on the photo is a problem with the camera ... don't know how to clean it. Think it must go to a repair man to get fixed.

Happily Ever Challenged #10 - A Golden Opportunity

I have been playing with PTI's Trimming Tree Trio to find a perfect layout for my christmas cards this year. One that came up is the one I am sharing today - and it fits perfectly to Ted's Happily Ever Challenged #10 - A Golden Opportunity. I used plenty of Embossing powder in Gold! A Very Goldish card.

UHHH better late than never!

I made this card to Nichole Heady from Papertrey Ink. Someone from the PTI forum initiated a little "Thank-you-event" to her and I wanted to participate in this because really: I am pretty sure I wouldn't have gotten hooked to papercrafting if it wasn't for PTI! - it might sound a bit strange but I am pretty sure about it. I have played around with papercrafting before - and it always made me feel like an old dusty ...something - but with PTI I feel the products are made for me and they are young and versatile ... everything I like. So Nichole - thank you for making these wonderful products - this card is for you.

Now I really have to go - it is late and I still have to take care of the pretty black mare in the stable :) She is so sweet - I love that horse :)

Aspiring to Creativity's 2nd Glimmer Challenge!

Hi there!
Its still raining here in Denmark. It is unbelievable how much water the sky can hold. Eventhough it rains a lot in Denmark it is always "moderate" - at least compared to what we see right now. Denmark doesn't have any rivers so flooded streets and houses are very unusual for us. Normally we have 67 mm of rain in August - but just today fell 70 mm in 2 hours - and worst is right now in the city Billund (maybe you better know it if I write it is the city where "LEGOLAND" is located) - 140 mm of rain the last 24 hours - and it is still raining !!!!

Anyway - enough about rain.

Dana from Aspiring to Creativity mentioned that there was a new Glimmer Challenge and of course I want to play along. You can play too - just read more here.

The challenge is to find inspiration in a pretty picture of Dana's daughter - that wasn't hard at all - she is super cute! More difficult was that I also had to use a tool or supply which I never used before. You can see the photo here.

I found some Embossing powder from Ranger which was unopened - so I settled for that, also because it was green! (Look at the Picture at Glimmer Challenge and you will know why that was good ;))

Here is the card I ended up with:


Here is a close up so you can see the embossing powder - it is a distress embossing powder, I am not sure I used it correctly. I thought there would be more crystals in it. I heated it and then rub lightly on it as indicated on the little plastic tin ... well maybe my expectations were too high for that powder.

Happy Birthday again

August is a month full of birthdays for my family. So here is yet a birthday card.

When I started working on this card I only knew that I wanted to use my new Pure Poppy buttons, and since I really like cards with stitches I wanted that too. But 1: I don't have a sowing machine, and 2: I have always been really bad at sowing. So I ended up just "imitating" stitches - not too sure how well that turned out....
If you have a good suggestion / technique of how to make the stitches look more real / better I would love to hear that from you.


Then I tried a new technique "masking", so my area for the frame was free of background stamp. It seemed to work ok - but I don't think you can see that on the photo.

Unexpected Colors

A new day - a new challenge!
Today I saw that the blog "Simplicity" host a one layer challenge using unexpected colors - from what I understood it is an ongoing thing with a new challenge every wednesday. But I have to admit - I didnt read it carefully through. Just thought "YEAH - I am going to participate in that" - you can participate too - just look here

I decided to make a dreamy card of a summer tree in unexpected colors. I love those colors mixed together.



Maybe the photo is not the best - it does seem a bit unclear/blured...Sorry about that!

I am sharing a card I made using Hero Arts and PTI stamps. The small pink flowers are embossed and the peacock image is distressed a lot. I like how the card turned out, what do you think? There is no sentiment - because I didn't have any sentiment stamp suitable for the card's purpose.
