Live your bliss

HI to everyone reading this blog post :)

I have decided to share a card with you today - I have made quite a few lately and the one I am sharing today is made specifically for my dad who loves old stamps (no not stamps for papercrafting ... stamps for letters). I like to think of the stories old stamps have with them - just imagien them travelling around the world on ships and trains while carrying important messages of love, life and politics.

So I have tried to make him a birthday card which captures a sense of stamps and travelling.

The print inside the card is Happy Birthday.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Cream standard card, brownish Bazill paper
Stamps: Hero arts Branch Background, PTI Text style I, Sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed Messages
Ink Versamark watermark, Hero arts shadow ink soft sand, VersaColor red
Pattern Paper: Grafic45 Communique

Christmas in July

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the waaaaay.

I saw that Jill posted a christmas card challenge on her blog Anjillic Creations - and the challenge is to make a christmas card. You can play along too - just check out the challenge here.

I want to participate because lately I have been thinking about what to do with christmas cards this year. So this card was sort of a kick-starter and making this card made me realize that I definitely need to buy some christmas stamps once I get home from vacation. Because I only have Holiday Wishes from PTI...I am not really quick at making a card, so if I need to make christmas cards I have to start early!

Thanks for posting the challenge Jill - it was fun to play along. Although the true christmas spirit was hard to find without christmas cookies and candles (just dont have any cookies in the house and burning candles in this heat would be crazy!!). But I enjoyed making the card on my balcony in the nice summer weather.

Here is my card:

And here are my supplies:
Pattern paper from My Mind's Eye - LUSH collection, red medium polka dot / stribe paper and from same collection Red Damask Paper.
Ink - from VersaColor Onxy black and Red Satin
Stamps - frame from PTI Fillable frames and PTI sentiment from Holiday wishes

I used cork for the frame, and used a standard cream card.

Volá - Merry Christmas.

Aspiring to Creativity's 1st Glimmer Challenge!

Well I am tempted to start off by writing: Oh time does go fast ...
It seems I have not been able to upload any cards on my blog as I promised to myself in last entry. Anyway :)

I saw that Aspiring to Creativity had a challenge - and I thought: I want to play along before my vacation starts on Wednesday.

It was quite funny to make this card, and it incorporates 6 different colors. I was quite surprised to see that I had all six colors in my supplies ... :)

Here is my card for this challenge:

I apologize for the picture quality - but yesterday my canon camera broke (LOVELY! just 3 days before the vacation.......)

My supplies for this card are:
INK
- Versa color Split Pea, Bark, Sky Blue
- Versamark water mark
- PTI Fresh snow
Cardstock
- PTI Raspberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, Lemon tart and dark chocolate
Pattern paper PTI Bitty dot in color moss green
Stamp PTI Guidelines, Sentiment from PTI Through Trees and some leaves from a cling (not really sure where or who I got that from).
- further I used a single perl and and a standard white card.

Well that is all for now :)
Thank you for looking at my card.

Have a nice summer

Time goes by .. oh so fast

Hey there! Well I am still here and my blog is not abandoned!

I did do a lot of stamping - but I didn't find time to take photos and upload my work here. What a pity! Well, I must change that in the future! I will try to keep a promise to myself of uploading once a week.

Here are some cards I made yesterday with new stamps I purchased from Hero Arts.

The first one is the Peacock card - I saw Dawn McVey's Peacock birthday card and fell head over heels in love with the Peacock stamp. I just had to have it and I used Dawn's design to kickstart my use of this stamp.

My supplies for this card are:
Blank card from Creative Card Making
Cardstock: PTI sweet blush, PTI Scarlet Jewel
Ink: PTI Scarlet Jewel, PTI vintage cream
Accents: cream perls
Tools:
Martha Stewart Doily lace punch
Stamp: Hero Arts Peacock with a sentiment from a stamp collection which I have forgotten where I got from :)

Second card I will share with you today is also a Hero Arts stamp "Garden Silhouette"

My supplies for this card are:
Blank card from Creative Card Making
Cardstock: PTI spring moss
Ink: PTI Ripe Avocado
Accents: red gems from Hero Arts, PTI Ribbon ripe avocado
Stamp: Hero Arts Garden Silhouette, sentiment from PTI Mega Mixed messages

Well thats all for today :) Thanks for looking.

PTI - Emboss Resist Challenge ?!??!

Today Papertrey announced an Emboss Resist Challenge.
Nicole Heady has made an illustrative video about this technic. It looks very very easy ... so although I had a busy afternoon I wanted to give it a shot. Ehhh 3 hours later I have to conclude: it is not very easy for a newbie .... :) and to be honest I am not quite sure I got the "emboss resist" right.

But the finished result is a card (and I had fun!!) and there is room for perfection - unfortunately I do not have more time today because I am packing bags for a tradefair week-end in Cologne.

I dapped my embossed stars with marigold ink and orange zest. So voila - that is my emboss resist until I learn more about it.

Here is my card:

My supplies were:
Cardstock: PTI dark chocolate, PTI summer sunrise and and no-name white cardstock from my local paper shop
Patterned paper: PTI "Bitty Dot Basics"
Ink: Versamark clear, marigold and orange zest
Emboss power: Filigreen white
PTI Stamps: Out on a limb, Mega mixed messages
